  8. Re. Henry Wise of Brompton Park - see National Archives catalogue for reference to him being executor for his brother Richard Wise of Deptford. Richard Wise's will (dated 1713, proved 1716 PCC) mentions a daughter Jane - could she be your Jane?

  9. Hi,
I noticed you have not updated your blog in a while. I have found that James Smith most probably came here from Ireland on the "David McIver", the same ship that Sarah Ann Adamson came over on in 1852. Also, they were all Ulster Scots, which is why they were protestants, Church of Ireland was Church of England and the Scottish equivalent Church of Scots was known as Presbyterian. The Wesleyan's rose out of these groups. Also, Ballymacanallen was a townland in the village of Gilford in the parish of Tullylish in the County of Down in the Province of Ulster and back then there was no Northern Ireland. Thomas Adamson was born in the parish of Seagoe in the County of Armagh in the province of Ulster which is only 4.7 miles from Tullylish so I presume he took his family home for a while because it seems that after their marriage they were living with Ann Jane's family. James came here as James Smyth from Newtownhamilton in the County of Armagh in the province of Ulster and it is 21 miles from Seagoe. GENUKI is a good source of geographical and other United Kingdom and Ireland data and it is free. Anyway, I still haven't bought those BDM's but shall do it this year. BTW, James and Sarah were my 2nd. great grandparents. I hope everything is okay with you.
    God bless you,
    Joanne Allard
